Dr Erin Lush
I always tell new patients that that is what an initial appointment is going to feel like. We talk about why you came in, I explain what different physiological processes may be going on, you ask all the questions you have, and we get you started with steps to feeling well!
I take great care in knowing that you are sharing an intimate part of yourself with me. I work to make the uncomfortable comfortable so that you can get back to living your best life.
Your libido is a marker of your vitality. You may need to feel well both physically and mentally to have a desire to engage in sexual activity. This is something I will work with you on.
Feeling happy digestively can be a real struggle and a barrier to enjoying the foods you love and the social things you want to be a part of.
Weight loss isn’t always as simple as calories in = calories out. Hormones play a big part in your weight, your metabolism plays a big role and how you move your body matters.
Having your hormonal health in balance can go a long way to helping you feel well. Hormones can impact your monthly cycles and how healthy your periods are.
The process of starting a family can be a mix of a lot of emotions; it can be very exciting, nerve-racking, cause a lot of worry and anxiety about doing “all the right things”.
How a naturopath works for you
A Naturopathic appointment will seem different than visiting your family doctor and that’s because they are. Our goal is to get you to your optimal health by taking in your whole health picture.
This starts by ensuring you have a strong foundation to build upon. Overall health affects what you are struggling with. Nutritional status, hormonal balance, stress management, digestion and absorption and sleep quality are the pillars to good health. During your treatments, you are educated about each of these and taught how to incorporate the changes necessary to empower you to take control of your health.
To optimize your health, we work together to find the root cause of what is causing your issues to help you thrive in life again.
Because your health journey should be a collaborative one.
Naturopathic medicine appointments
An initial appointment is 1h30m where we will go on a deep dive of your past medical history to get a full picture of your health.
You may be asked questions that you have not been asked by a medical doctor in the past, this is because Naturopaths look at the whole body when treating disease.
Your health goals and priorities will be determined and an initial plan will be put into place for your treatment.
A follow up appointment can range from 15m to 60m dependent on the nature of the follow up. Follow ups are used to track the progress of your treatment. Lab results may be reviewed, physical exams may be conducted and modifications to your treatment plan may be made.
Follow up appointments will be scheduled at the discretion of the Naturopath and the patient.
